I went to see this movie last night for the early showings. Evidently they had three showings of it before the actual release date so some of my friends were going to see it and I said what the heck might as well. Side note, there was no yoda in this one! Ha. I am a big Star Wars fan and had never seen any of the, probably twenty now, Star Trek movies. So I was a little skeptical about what to expect from this movie, in all honesty I wasn't expecting much. But the rating above has already given away what I thought about the movie. It was way better than I thought it could even be.
The story line was easy to follow, and I know I didn't catch every little detail probably, because I don't know anything at all about the whole Star Trek history. But I can say it really didn't matter that I hadn't watched any of the others, because it was very well written and good acting. The special effects were way better than the Wolverine movie that came out last week. I mean they out did theirselves with this one, it was so realistic. It is a Sci-fi/action movie, with a little romance and humor thrown into it.
All in all the movie went way pass my expectations and was a really good Sci-fi movie. I would definately recommend this movie for anyone.
